An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Manager to join our established Medicine Management team at Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. This post will be supporting the General Manager in the day to day management of a site and a range of services across the Medicine Business Unit including a range of specialties and services.
We are seeking to recruit a highly driven individual who is looking to develop their knowledge and skills working with the Medicine Management Team across our hospitals.
You must possess excellent organisational, communication and interpersonal skills and be able to demonstrate effective leadership skills. You will be required to demonstrate ability to develop services, manage and coordinate a defined area of work at an operational level and maintain budgetary control.
You will be responsible and accountable for an operational area which will encompass both clinical and non-clinical service delivery. You will be required to participate in the senior management on call rota for the Trust (after a period of induction).

Line management and leadership of a range of services within the Medicine Business Unit, which includes several wards/departments and associated specialist nurses and diagnostic services.
Manage pay and non-pay resources associated with defined speciality/specialities across the trust.
Provide operational management for the whole trust on a 1: 11 rota, before annual leave and sickness, as part of a two tier system.
Deputise for the General Manager as designated.
Responsibility is held for the effective management of staff in HR issues, including recruitment, appraisal, grievance, disciplinary and sickness absence.
Responsible for the maintenance and successful achievement of local and national performance management targets.
Ensure that ward/departments maintain the highest standards and performance requirements under corporate and clinical governance procedures.

Overall responsibility for the effective operational management of a defined clinical specialty /specialties across several sites within the trust within a specific directorate.
Provide leadership in the development of clinical and support services.
Actively support the Director and General Manager in and contribute to the development and delivery of, directorate strategy and objectives.
Actively support the achievement of objectives within both corporate and directorate agenda.
Effectively manage numerous budgets and resources whilst maintaining a high level of patient care.
Responsible for hospital management out of hours as member of the on call rota.
