Job overview
We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Dental Therapist to join a highly motivated, professional and supportive Health Inclusion Dental Team.
The post Holder will provide dental care to people experiencing homelessness, substance misuse, asylum seekers, prison leavers, sex workers and traveller communities including special care patients with conditions including learning disabilities, physical impairment including obesity, mental health, medically-compromising conditions, and those with social barriers.
The successful applicant will join a dynamic team providing a full range of community dentistry working alongside dentists, dental therapists, Hygienists and Dental Nurses.
Main duties of the job
The Dental Therapist will provide a wide range of specialist clinical, restorative, preventive dental procedures and level of dental care to patients with complex needs in challenging environments.
The Dental Therapist will be required to work in a fixed or mobile clinic within Cardiff and Vale Community Dental Service.

Qualifications
* National Diploma in Dental Therapy or equivalent qualification
* Registered with GDC
* FETC Certified
Experience
* Experience of work as a Dental therapist, Experience of care of patients with special needs, Direct access care experience
* Experience of working within a multidisciplinary team, Experience of domiciliary care, Experience of working in Community Dental Services, Experience of working with health inclusion patients
Skills
* Excellent organisational skills, Team working, Excellent interpersonal skills
Special Knowledge
* Knowledge of the Community Dental Service in Wales, Up to date knowledge on Oral Health Education Issues
