Senior BA Role Purpose

Role Responsibilities
As a Senior Business Analyst, you will be a key driver in our transformation journey, bridging the gap between customer needs, business requirements, and technical solutions. Working in a dynamic startup environment, you will shape product development, design seamless customer journeys, and ensure successful integration with third-party APIs and systems.
You will serve as the crucial link between product teams, development teams, and business stakeholders, translating complex business requirements into clear technical specifications while maintaining focus on exceptional customer experience.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Product Analysis & Customer Journey Design:
1. Owns end-to-end analysis of new product launches and feature developments
2. Designs and maps customer journeys, identifying pain points and opportunities for improvement
3. Creates detailed process flows and user stories that balance customer experience with technical feasibility
4. Champions customer-centric design thinking across all initiatives
5. Develops comprehensive business requirements that align with both customer needs and technical capabilities
Technical Analysis & Integration:
1. Leads technical requirement gathering and analysis for complex system integrations
2. Creates detailed technical specifications for third-party API integrations
3. Maps data flows and system interactions across multiple platforms
4. Ensures solutions meet both immediate startup needs and enterprise scalability requirements
5. Collaborates with development teams to create clear, actionable technical stories
Business Process Analysis:
1. Analyses and documents current business processes to identify improvement opportunities
2. Designs scalable processes that can grow with the business
3. Identifies opportunities for automation and process improvement
4. Ensures processes align with both startup agility and enterprise governance requirements
Stakeholder Management & Team Leadership:
1. Builds strong relationships across product, technical, and business teams
2. Facilitates effective communication between startup and enterprise stakeholders
3. Mentors and supports team members in business analysis best practices as the ALTO team grows
4. Promotes knowledge sharing and collaboration across the organisation
5. Acts as a bridge between technical and non-technical stakeholders
Agile Delivery & Documentation:
1. Champions Agile methodologies while maintaining clear documentation standards
2. Leads backlog refinement and story mapping sessions
3. Creates and maintains technical and functional documentation
4. Ensures traceability between business requirements and technical implementation
5. Balances speed of delivery with quality and compliance needs
PERSON SPECIFICATION:
Knowledge/Experience
1. Extensive experience in business analysis, with strong focus on customer journey mapping and technical integration
2. Proven track record of delivering complex technical solutions in both startup and enterprise environments
3. Experience with API integration and technical specification development
4. Strong understanding of Agile development practices and documentation
5. Knowledge of insurance products and processes advantageous
Skills/Behaviours
1. Expert in both business and technical analysis
2. Strong technical acumen with ability to understand and document complex systems
3. Excellence in customer journey mapping and process design
4. Outstanding documentation and specification writing skills

Qualifications
1. Professional certifications in Business Analysis (e.g. BCS), Agile (Scrum, Product Owner) highly valued
