We are recruiting a Finance Trustee to join the Board of Trustees to support our Charity's work.. What difference will you make? LDVG have a proven track record of positive community impact. Our Chair, Vice Chair,Finance Trustee and Trustees are integral to our ongoing success as they steer and guide our strategic direction. We work with over 90 volunteers and have over 450 members who enjoy the benefits of being involved with our organisation. We offer a wide variety of services and activities, from our daily call line, our lunch clubs, our free handy person service, our various activity groups, to our community transport's shopping services and NHS community car support. We are looking for an individual keen to give back to their community at a strategic level. An individual who is able to work both as part of a team and on their own initiative. As Finance Trustee they need experience or in-depth knowledge of Charity sector finances- any income achieved is put towards the charity's objectives. Reports can be prepared at home. What will you be doing? Specific Duties and Responsibilities Trustees for LDVG have responsibility for governance of the charity and overseeing the management and administration of the organisation, including financial monitoring and decision making. The Treasurer's role is to assist and advise the board in overseeing the finances, even if paid staff deal with much of the day-to-day financial business. Please refer to role description attached. Time Commitment The Board meets 6 times per year normally from 5pm to 7pm on 3rd Tuesday of every 2nd month. The Charity now has an interactive comms system which will allow for the occasional opportunity to join online. There will, from time to time, be the opportunity for Trustees to join subgroups such as Fundraising, HR, Finance & Evaluation and Research which meet outwith the main Board meeting. Trustees are also expected to attend the AGM, which is normally held in the summer. Communication between meetings usually takes place by e-mail, letter or occasional phone call.
