About the department:
The Technical Sales department is responsible for managing technical communications with customers, ensuring internal alignment to meet customer requirements (including delivery, quality, and service), and maintaining strong, long-term customer relationships.
Technical Sales Engineer is an essential link between Sales, Customer and Project Management during phase from order and delivery. At BYD, Technical Sales consists of a team in Shenzhen and in Europe. The Technical Sales Engineers work directly with clients and coordinates with Technical Sales and Project Management departments to ensure customer requirements and project scope is clearly defined and customer is up-to-date during production and delivery phase.
Main responsibilities:
* Serve as the primary technical contact for UK customers, gathering and analyzing their specific requirements for electric bus projects.
* Manage the delivery of electric bus projects, ensuring that customer expectations are met in terms of quality, timelines, and performance.
* Provide technical guidance and support throughout the project lifecycle, from pre-sales to post-sales.
* Follow up on customer major complaints related to the E-Bus department’s products or services.
* Coordinate with internal teams (engineering, production, service) to resolve issues efficiently.
* Track and ensure customer satisfaction, taking necessary actions to improve the customer experience.
* Collaborate with the Technical Sales Manager and the sales team to align on project requirements and deliverables.
* Conduct technical presentations and demonstrations to assist the sales team in closing deals.
* Assist in the preparation of proposals, quotations, and technical documentation for customers.
* Oversee the implementation of customer projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and budget.
* Communicate project progress, risks, and challenges to customers and management.
* Coordinate with internal departments to ensure smooth execution of projects.
Main requirements:
* Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
* 3-5 years of experience in a Project Management or similar role with proven successful records of managing multiple projects/customers of varying sizes in parallel;
* Experience in cross-cultural management, client management and conflict management, strong sense of responsibility and ownership.
* Strong and effective written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills in English
* Solid knowledge of the automotive, preferably the e-Bus market;
