Food and Beverage Supervisor - Sudima Kaikōura

Sudima Kaikōura is a near new 4.5-star hotel on the esplanade of Kaikōura's waterfront, conveniently located at the end of the town center. The hotel has spectacular 360 views of the seaward Kaikōura mountain range, waterfront and peninsula and proudly presents large scale, local Māori artwork throughout the hotel, with a high-quality fit-out, 120 well-appointed rooms, restaurant, bar, conference facilities and infinity pool.
About The Role
An opportunity awaits for Full Time Food and Beverage Supervisor at our restaurant.
Ideally, you will have experience in a similar role, a passion for exceeding our diners expectations and great knowledge of food and beverages. We are looking for someone who is passionate and has the enthusiasm that will inspire a team of restaurant and beverage superstars.
This is a hands-on role which requires leadership skills, the ability to remain calm under pressure whilst leading a busy restaurant and bar team to ensure exceptional service.
The successful candidate will have experience as a Supervisor or ready to take that next step with three years or more of food and beverage experience. You will be familiar with Sale of Liquor responsibilities. This is a fixed term, part-time role based at Sudima Kaikōura. The pay rate is $27.00 per hour with a guaranteed minimum of 20 hours per week.
In this role you will:
* Delegate tasks to restaurant staff and supervise their performance
* Maintain a fully-stocked inventory and order food supplies, as needed
* Help staff resolve on-the-job challenges
* Track daily costs and revenues
* Balance the cash register at the end of the shift
* Coordinate with suppliers as they deliver food product orders
* Ensure client satisfaction and gracefully handle any complaints
* Open or close the restaurant (when responsible for the first or last shift)
* Report maintenance and training needs
Requirements
* 2-3 years experience in F&B service
* Previous Supervisor experience preferred
* NZQF Level 2 or 3 qualification (ANZSCO Skill Level 4)
* At least one year of relevant experience may substitute for the formal qualifications listed above.
* Excellent Communicator
* Understanding of Sale of Liquor Act
* Exudes attentive, friendly and professional service
* Excellent wine, beer and cocktail knowledge
* Highly organised and plans ahead
* Can work on a rotating roster 7 days a week, comfortable working early mornings (5.30am start)
* Candidates must already have the legal right to work in New Zealand to be considered for the role.
