We are looking for an M&E Instrumentation and Controls (ICS) Planner to work within the defence sector based in Reading, Berkshire.
This site-based role is to work under the supervision of the Head of Planning to support site ICS work packages to develop and maintain a detailed work package delivery programme on a major defence project.
The Planner will be responsible for all planning and schedule management activities within the corporate P6 planning tool ensuring a true representation of the delivery programme is established and maintained within the Mensa Programme to Complete (P2C).
Act as an expert adviser, providing planning support to maintain agreed minimum standards and improve the quality of data used for upwards reporting. Close cooperation with the Programme Planners in the Programme Management team to ensure alignment of the overall delivery is essential to ensure that any issues can be resolved or escalated as appropriate.
The role requires Security Clearance at SC (or above) and ONLY Candidates holding current SC (or above) clearance will be considered.
This is a construction lifecycle delivery role, not a PMO role.
RESPONIBILITIES
Application of technical and construction knowledge to produce and manage the Engineering element of the Mensa P2C.
Interface directly with Supply Chain Partners and undertake regular reviews.
To facilitate interactive planning reviews with stakeholder teams to minimise adverse schedule impact.
KEY REQUIREMENTS
Proficient with Primavera P6 in an Enterprise environment.
Holder of SC (or above) clearance.
Previous site experience in delivering projects to programme.
NEC Experience contractual mechanism essential especially a thorough understanding of the Programme for Acceptance process.
Experienced in the implementation and use of earned value analysis (schedule and performance management).
Experience of Developing WBS and development of schedules from limited information.
Ability to integrate Engineering delivery with M&E, General Building and complex Plant work packages to achieve programme.
An ability to work in a partnering environment with the client.
Skilled in progress interrogation and scrutiny of / challenging contractor schedules.
Close working with supply chain / internal project managers to develop / improve logic sequence.
Experience of Critical Path Analysis / late starts early starts / finishes.
Understanding and interpreting Float Erosion and Critical activities.
Development of What-if scenarios for exploring sequence effects on the schedule.
Ability to interpret project documentation and drawings
