We are seeking to recruit a dynamic, organised and enthusiastic Band 8a Advanced Clinical Practitioner to join our vibrant and fast paced organisation here at the Regional Medical Centre based in RAF Cosford.
The successful post-holder will work as part of a multidisciplinary primary healthcare team and will be accountable for the direct delivery of autonomous advance primary healthcare nursing including elements of occupational health.

Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will provide highly specialised high-quality person-centred care which always considers peoples safety, privacy and dignity using advanced clinical knowledge that is evidence based.
The post holder will plan and manage complete episodes of care; undertake independent comprehensive assessment and management of service users to incorporate pharmacological considerations; making complex clinical decisions regarding service user management and clinical outcomes.
Job responsibilities
Duties of the role include but are not limited to:
* Providing safe, evidence-based, cost-effective, and individualised patient care.
* Working autonomously using advanced levels of history taking and examination skills within multi-disciplinary team, guidelines, and protocols. Utilise advanced clinical skills in assessment and/or formulate a diagnosis and/or treatment plan.
* Having direct responsibility for patient caseload, ensuring all patients have an accurate plan of care, which reflects the assessment undertaken and incorporate the issues and recommendations made.
* Providing specialist advice and support to patients, their families and other healthcare professionals following assessment, diagnosis and throughout treatment.

Registrations & Memberships
Essential
* Registered Nurse on part 1 of the NMC Register. Current Registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council.
Qualifications
Essential
* Masters Degree in Advanced Practice, or relevant higher-level degree plus PG Diploma in Advanced Practice in Primary Healthcare at level 7, or successful accreditation with the Royal College of Nursing (RCN).
* Registered Non-Medical prescriber.
* Relevant teaching qualification or can demonstrate equivalent level of competency.
* Learning and Assessing in Practice Qualification or equivalent practice assessors training.
* Quality improvement methodology or willingness to undertake training.
* In date for Adult Life Support/Immediate Life Support ALS/ILS, Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) Safeguarding Level 3 (Children and Adult depending on population at risk) or willingness to undertake training.
* To be proficient in relevant IT systems subject to appropriate training being provided.
* In-depth knowledge in the field of Primary Healthcare.
Desirable
* Extensive experience of leading and promoting health and well-being clinics i.e. smoking cessation, weight management, alcohol misuse, sexual health, and cervical screening.
* Extensive experience of providing care to patients with chronic illnesses e.g. Asthma, Family Planning, Diabetes, CHD and hypertension ensuring continued maintenance of the Chronic Disease Register.
* Demonstrate a high level of knowledge in relation to pattern of disease/disorder, markers of condition progression and range of treatment available at each stage of disease or condition.
* Evidence of completion of study in minor illness minor injury and history taking.
* Experience of managing and developing a nursing team.
* Experience of having provided mentorship and/or coaching to other staff.
* Evidenced of continuous professional development and the practical application of new skills to the workplace.
* Experience in primary healthcare, occupational health, military occupational health and musculoskeletal medicine.
