A vacancy has arisen for a Registered Psychologist to work as part of a dynamic psychology team based at Llanarth Court Hospital.
The Hospital has seven wards and cares for Forensic patients with a range of mental health needs. Our Psychologists work alongside colleagues from Psychiatry, Nursing, Occupational Therapy and Social Work to provide high quality care. The Psychologist we are looking for will be experienced in assessment and formulation to help determine the treatment needs of individual service users. The role also includes providing training to staff, running reflective practice, writing risk assessments and providing individual and group interventions, to meet the needs of the population. There is a large established and supportive psychology team at Llanarth Court to provide the backdrop to the work on the units. We are looking for someone with a creative and compassionate approach, with an enthusiasm for improving the quality of life of our service users both whilst they are in our care and as they progress to less restrictive environments.
The successful candidate should have a postgraduate study relevant to their specialism e.g. Clinical, Forensic Counselling Psychology and be a Registered Practitioner Psychologist with the HCPC. It will be desirable, for the candidate to be a Chartered Psychologist with the BPS and a member of the specialist division e.g. DCP, DFP or DCoP.
