Your new company
A public sector organisation is recruiting for an Assessment Associate to be responsible for key aspects of the project assessment, accountable department and applicant engagement along with supporting call development and other investment area work of company administered funding Programmes. This is a temporary contract initially for 6-9 months.
Your new role
The Assessment Associate will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of an efficient and effective service in the assessment of investment areas, delivering timely reports to Steering Committee and hand over to colleagues for delivery of the projects.
Assessments
* Develop and maintain productive relationships with key stakeholders in the assessment process.
* Follow robust procedures and systems for timely delivery of assessments.
* Assist in reviewing policies and procedures for project assessments.
* Provide necessary input for moderation, finalisation, and supporting information needed for the Steering Committee.
* Implement effective project administration and financial control systems.
* Write assessments of project applications and manage the economic appraisal process if required.
* Prepare business cases for Accountable Departments if required.
* Ensure successful projects comply with all policy requirements.
* Investigate and resolve problems and queries from programs, responding to feedback/complaints promptly.
* Draft progress reports as required.
* Assist in preparing updates on assessment activity for Accountable Departments, Tripartite, NSMC, or PMC as required.
* Agree on processes/timelines for specific calls and update the call timetable.
* Ensure audit compliance in line with required standards.
* Deliver policy requirements on behalf of the organisation, such as GDPR.
* Develop team members through coaching, delegation, deputising, and assessing training requirements.
* Quality assurance of outputs, including peer review of scored assessment reports to ensure consistency of approach.
* Develop and maintain productive working relationships with other units.
External Liaison
* Represent the organisation at meetings with Accountable Departments.
* Meet with potential funding applicants for pre-development support as required.
* Manage all de-briefing processes and review procedures for unsuccessful applicants.
* Provide significant input to the Communications team to assist in their responses to UK Parliamentary Questions, NI Assembly Questions, and Questions from representatives of Dail Eireann.
* Contract management of technical consultants as required.
What you'll need to succeed
* An Honours degree or equivalent third level qualification.
* Experience of assessment of projects / proposals / funding applications.
* Experience of collating and reviewing of non-financial information (reports etc.) and follow-up action as required.
* Experience in working with, understanding, and interpreting financial data.
* Experience in negotiating and maintaining effective relationships with key contacts internally and externally, displaying sensitivity, tact and diplomatic skills. Access to transport as travel between sites will be required.
* Experience of working across teams and structures to ensure effective implementation of projects.
What you'll get in return
* £43,315 - £45,351 annual salary.
* 37 hours per week.
