Purchasing Manager required. Our client is a global manufacturer who specialises in electronic gates and access controls security systems. They are now looking for a Purchasing Manager due to the growth of the business. They are looking for a candidate to either work from an office High Wycombe or Durham.
Successful candidates will play a pivotal role in the procurement process, ensuring the efficient and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services. This role involves developing and maintaining relationships with suppliers, negotiating contracts, and managing the entire purchasing cycle.
Purchasing Manager Position Overview
1. Schedule the supply of materials/components to meet all sales and production requirements and minimum safety stock levels
2. Plan, develop, implement and evaluate processes for material delivery from supplier to warehousing
3. Deal with any stock discrepancies or quality issues efficiently
4. Assess volume requirements against planning assumptions
5. Day-to-day order management and management of deliveries
6. Understand and manage risks to minimise impact on sales and production schedules
7. Take follow up actions in relation to material shortages that affect sales and production
8. Implement all processes to agreed standards and targets and support continuous improvement initiatives and identify areas of improvement
9. Utilise the ERP system that is in place and ensure that data is accurate and up to date and resolve any issues as required
10. Monitor the integrity of Bill of Materials (BOM) and manage inventory accuracy
11. Manage the receiving and booking of goods in to correct locations in an accurate and timely manner, liaising with intercompany and planning teams for any discrepancies or quality issues
12. Monitor inventory levels against agreed target levels
13. Support inventory checks to validate inventory accuracy
14. Minimise obsolete stock and ensure business is left with minimum liability
15. Create regular statistical reports and analysis and update others in the organisation
16. Assist Finance staff by reviewing and approving invoices as required
17. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to forecast, plan and facilitate on-time materials to the production line as and when required, avoiding disruption to production
18. Generate and communicate supplier material delivery schedules and forecasts to ensure they reflect requirements and meet demands
19. Develop and maintain good relationships with suppliers and ensure demand for materials is met and deliveries made on time
20. Develop and implement processes and work with suppliers on continuous improvement initiatives
21. Support supplier meetings and negotiations to ensure demand for materials is met
22. Resolve supplier concerns and evaluate supplier performance in conjunction with members of the purchasing team
Purchasing Manager Position Requirements
23. 3+ year's experience in a similar role
24. Commercial and financial awareness with a full understanding of how failure impacts the costs, production, manufacture and customer order fulfilment
25. An understanding of lean manufacturing principles

26. Salary: £30,000- £40,000
27. Working hours: 8:45am - 5:15pm
