The Building Control Surveyor Role
As a Building Control Surveyor, you will be responsible for ensuring that building projects comply with the latest building regulations and standards. Your role will involve checking plans, inspecting sites, and providing expert advice to clients and contractors throughout the construction process. You will play a crucial part in ensuring that all developments are safe, energy-efficient, and sustainable.
The successful Building Control Surveyor will manage a diverse portfolio of projects, working closely with architects, engineers, and developers to guide them through the regulatory requirements. Your expertise will ensure that all projects meet statutory obligations and are completed to the highest standards.
The Building Control Surveyor
1. Qualified and experienced - A degree in Building Control, Building Surveying, or a related field, with a minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar role.
2. Regulatory knowledge - In-depth knowledge of current building regulations, standards, and legislation.
3. Proven experience in carrying out site inspections, assessing compliance, and identifying potential risks or issues.
4. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to provide clear, professional advice to clients and project teams.
5. Ideally a member of a professional body such as RICS, CABE, or CIOB.
