Senior Product Developer - Cosmetics Salary: Dependent upon experience Cheshire - office based Due to continued growth and expansion our client, a supplier of a wide range of health and beauty products to a global customer base are now seeking a Senior Product Developer to focus on cosmetics. The Role: You will be working in the fast-paced New Product Development department assisting the Sales Team to successfully deliver projects to worldwide customers. You will be an integral part of the team liaising with all areas of the business, and to their Chinese manufacturing facility. Your main roles will include concept development, range plan development/ gap analysis, briefing in design, product costings, arranging product and cosmetic samples, sample management, cosmetic colour selections, liaising with our Technical Team, suppliers, and sourcing. Developing product & range concepts to present to clients. Liaise with the graphics team to brief in & review CADS and Sample artwork. Preparing product costings for the Sales team. Arrange samples & manage the sampling process. Working with our internal teams & factories to prepare samples for client’s approval. Ensure the samples meet the customer brief, are fit for purpose, and review & resolve any issues. Cosmetic colour development. Build product ranges through a selection of cosmetic & colours. Briefing in new formulation developments, based on client requirements, working closely with in house chemists to develop skincare and colour cosmetic formulations both in the UK and China. Communicate with the China team to resolve queries and ensure key information is supplied in a timely manner. Sourcing with the Far East & UK factories. Work closely with the regulatory team to meet the clients brief and resolve any queries. About You: This role would suit someone with previous NPD experience in Cosmetics, or experience in roles similar: Buyer, etc. We are looking for somebody who is Beauty Obsessed, with good knowledge of Beauty Brands & Products by keeping up with the latest market and social trends. You will have a creative eye, be good at problem solving and a great attention to detail. The nature of the workload requires you to be able to work intuitively, with the capacity to work on multiple projects at once. You will have good communication skills and be able to build strong working relationships across all areas of the business. A good team player who shows enthusiasm & flexibility.
