Our Infrastructure team are looking for a Graduate Electrical Engineer, preferably with an interest or experience in high voltage transmission, to join their team on the High Voltage Direct Current framework. HVDC aims to build convertor stations that take the electricity produced on offshore wind farms, move it across the country, and put it back into our electrical grid.
What you'll do:
* Work with the team to prepare and analyse key electrical options, for review and agreement with the client and key project stakeholders.
* Prepare sub-contract packages and equipment packages for tender pricing, including compliance with all standards.
* Liaise and work with the Procurement teams to ensure best commercial value is achieved on the packages you are responsible for.
* Create detailed construction programs and monitor the quality and site progress of the sub-contractors employed by Skanska.
* Liaise with the supply chain to ensure the latest technologies are assessed and understood as part of the optioneering process.
* Implement digital technologies which enable Skanska to be efficient in the working methods that are implemented throughout the life cycle of the project, such as CAD (computer aided system) and BIM (building information modelling) software.
* Promote the site safety and environmental culture, ensure that all works can be carried out in a controlled and safe manner, in accordance with statutory regulations, current standards and company health, safety, environmental and quality standards.
What you'll bring to the role:
* You are in your final year of achieving a degree in Electrical Engineering, or have recently graduated.
* Enthusiastic about learning, personal and professional growth.
* Able to take information from drawings to implement efficient planning services to the business.
* Able to communicate complex information to a wide range of audiences.
* You have a strong interest in innovation, sustainability and making a positive impact.
* You work collaboratively towards shared goals and targets.
* You are motivated to work in site-based environment, initially on a highway project.
* This role requires visits to sites. As such, we would expect you to have a driving licence or work towards obtaining one within your first year of working with us.
