Our client is a global engineering business with multiple sites in the North East. They are currently looking for a Buyer to join them on a permanent basis. About the Buyer role As Buyer, you will be responsible for managing and ensuring the purchase of materials, services and/or equipment for the assigned purchasing category and project portfolio, within the set project plan, policies and framework agreements established on category level. Other responsibilities of the Buyer include: Lead and participate in pre-bid process, pipeline discussions and meetings for technical commodities within the business. Ability to read, understand technical drawings, specifications and to transfer these requirements from this information into RFQs, Purchase Orders and Framework Agreements. Lead and co-ordinate negotiations on all major project procurement working with Supply Chain Manager as required on high value contracts. About You As Buyer, you will have purchasing experience within a manufacturing or project based offshore environment and be MCIPS qualified and/or degree in business or related discipline. Other requirements of the Buyer include: Strong PC skills Experience of development and implementation of supply chain strategies. Excellent negotiator – externally and within the business
