Our client is a successful construction principal contractor who works nationally from multiple offices across the country. They are looking to appoint a Site Manager to manage a construction project building a new teaching block at a school in the Hessle area. Their success has led to a sharp increase in turnover. The Company aims to continue with their growth over the coming financial years. They have developed an excellent reputation for themselves in market sectors including: Education, Office, Hotel, Care Home, Commercial, and Apartments. They are an entirely relationship-driven business and pride themselves on the fact that over 70% of their workload is negotiated with existing clients that they have built relationships with.
The Site Manager Role
This role is suitable for a Site Manager or Assistant Site Manager looking to work in a more dynamic environment. The successful candidate will be expected to execute the designated role to the agreed programme, in line with Health, Safety, and Environmental standards expected by the client and company.
The position will manage a site in the Hessle area that will run for approximately 26 weeks. The project is the new build of a teaching block at a school with additional works such as ground works, drainage, structural alterations, new roof, and the interior fit-out.
It is expected that the successful applicant will be capable of running the project on a day-to-day basis with the assistance of a visiting Contracts Manager. As the Site Manager, you will be responsible for the delivery of the project with demolition, construction, refurbishment, and fit-out elements across the scheme from inception to completion.
Responsibilities include:
1. Managing the project on site
2. Managing the build program
3. Conducting some inductions if required
4. Managing Health and Safety
5. Working closely with all sub-contractors to ensure projects finish on time
6. Liaising on all levels to ensure effective communication is always maintained
The ideal candidate will have previously managed construction and/or fast-track refurbishment sites within the construction and refurbishment sectors. Experience in education, care homes, hotels, offices, student accommodation, commercial, and PRS apartment schemes is beneficial.
As the Site Manager, you will be required to be a self-motivated individual who is autonomous in your role while being able to drive subcontractors.
It is essential that you hold an ENHANCED DBS, SMSTS, CSCS Black Card, Asbestos Awareness, and First Aid certificates.
The project will commence on the 6th January 2026.
Remuneration:
Dependent upon experience, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to earn up to £300 per day DOE.
