Construction Trade Curriculum Manager
Salary: Up to £40,000
The Role
As the Construction Trade Curriculum Manager, you will lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of our construction trade training programs within the prison education system. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the construction trade, a passion for rehabilitation through skills development, and an understanding of the unique challenges faced by learners in prison. The Construction Trade Curriculum Manager will play a pivotal role in ensuring our curriculum meets industry standards, aligns with employment opportunities, and addresses the needs of our learners. This role will be accountable to the Education DSM for the effective management of the Construction Trade curriculum and to take the establishment lead for quality assurance and improvement within your curriculum area.
The role:
* Curriculum Development: Design and develop comprehensive construction trade training programs that cover a range of trades and skills, ensuring they are relevant, engaging, and tailored to the needs of the prison population.
* Quality Assurance: Implement and maintain rigorous quality assurance processes to ensure high standards of teaching, learning, and assessment. Regularly evaluate the effectiveness of the construction trade programs and make necessary adjustments.
* Team Leadership: Lead, support, and mentor a team of construction trade tutors and instructors, providing guidance, training, and professional development opportunities. Foster a collaborative and inclusive team environment.
* Compliance and Standards: Ensure all construction programs comply with relevant regulatory and awarding body requirements. To be responsible for the high standard and timely completion of all internal verification and moderation processes within construction trade training, working with trainers, assessors, IQAs, EQAs, and Awarding Organisations.
* Learner Support: Develop and implement strategies to support learners with varying abilities and backgrounds, including those with additional learning needs, ensuring starting points are used. Promote an inclusive and supportive learning environment within the prison setting.
What We're Looking For:
* A relevant first degree and/or professional qualification and a teaching qualification.
* Persuasive and supportive leadership and staff management skills.
* Strong knowledge of construction trade education standards and assessment requirements.
* A commitment to the Reduction of Re-Offending through Education and Skills.
