Main Objectives
Responsible for the timely order placement, supply and expedition of raw materials, assemblies, and support services to maintain production. Managing select suppliers to ensure on time delivery while managing inventory levels to prevent shortages and maximize turns. Liaising with Engineering, Planning, Sales, and Manufacturing disciplines (team approach), highly focused on environmental and ethical trading considerations.
Key Responsibilities
1. Preparation and distribution of weekly expedite reports to selected supply chain partners, ensuring that all respond, and data is entered into company ERP system.
2. Analyses exception messages from ERP system, and places Purchase orders ensuring cost effective timely delivery.
3. Preparation of document packs (electronic) in support of custom part order needs, (i.e., drawings, BOM’s, Gerber files) ready to submit to supply chain partners.
4. Manage selected suppliers to control inventories and ensure timely flow of material.
5. Develop working knowledge of commodities and associated supplier base.
6. Develop a thorough working knowledge of required ERP system.
7. Bring ideas to management and be able to implement necessary process improvements.
8. Able and willing to work necessary hours to meet all project deadlines, travel when necessary.
9. Other duties or responsibilities as assigned.
10. Responsibility for adhering to the Company’s ISO 9001 Quality, ISO14001 Environmental and Health and Safety management systems and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
1. Strong IT skills and a good working knowledge of MS Office suite.
2. Advanced Microsoft analytical skills desired but not essential.
3. Experience in purchasing electronic or electro-mechanical parts desirable.

10. Maintains composure and remains effective when dealing with frequent job challenges, unexpected disruptions, working with conflicting, delayed, or unclear information.
11. Collects and researches data, analyses the data and offers recommended solutions.
12. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to show good judgment by isolating causes. Able to work well in-group problem solving situations, understand consequences of potential decisions, and support and explain reasoning for decisions.
13. Maintains an appropriate focus on short- and long-term goals, outcomes, and accomplishments. Motivated by results and persists until the goal is reached.
