Employment Lawyer - Local Authority, Permanent Opportunity
We are seeking an Employment Lawyer to join a Local Authority’s Dispute Resolution and Employment Law Team. This is a permanent position offering a competitive salary, comprehensive benefits package, and flexible working arrangements with the opportunity to work from home or remotely for part of the week.
Key Responsibilities:
* Advising on a wide range of employment law matters, including discrimination claims, unfair dismissal, TUPE, redundancies, and settlement agreements
* Representing clients in employment tribunals and handling all stages of claims
* Drafting and advising on trade union provisions and capability issues
* Providing legal support on restructures and disciplinary matters
* Building and maintaining relationships with internal and external clients, offering clear and succinct advice on complex legal issues
About You:
* Qualified solicitor, barrister, or legal executive with membership of the relevant professional body
* At least 2 years’ post-qualification experience (lawyers with less experience may be considered)
* Expertise in employment law and the ability to manage contentious and non-contentious matters
* Commercially aware with a proven ability to deliver high-quality advice
* Strong communication and relationship-building skills
