We are looking for a driven sales professional and travel enthusiast to join us as a Sales Manager, where you will work directly with our hotel suppliers across Scandinavia and Belgium, negotiating contracts with them, to ensure Secret Escapes has an exciting and varied portfolio that inspires our members to escape in style. This role can be based in either our London, Berlin or Amsterdam offices.

Secret Escapes operates a flexible working policy and we are all in the office 1 day a week (minimum) and have core hours of 10am-4pm (you can make up the other hours to suit you). In keeping with being an inspirational travel brand, we also have a ‘Work from Anywhere’ policy, so you can work from anywhere in the world for up to a month each year!
The role & things you’ll be working on:
As a Sales Manager, you will be responsible for negotiating and improving offers across your designated region, with the aim of driving the commercial growth of the company by securing the best deals for our customers.
Day to day you will be working on…
1. Building relationships with a diverse remit of hotels in the region, from country hotels and spas, to chic boutique city hotels, as well as beach resorts and self-catering apartments.
2. Developing your portfolio of hotels and products to create a diverse pool across the Scandinavian region and negotiating the best hotel deals to inspire our worldwide members to travel. (Potential for the region covered to change or expand further down the line).
3. Driving the commercial growth of your region by building strong relationships with decision makers in the supply chain.
4. Managing all elements of the contracting process from target identification and initial contact right through to pricing, contract agreement, allocation management and ongoing account management.
5. Reporting, evaluating and implementing suitable sales measures to optimise performance and growth.
6. Closely collaborating with other departments – particularly with Operations, Sales Steering & Revenue, Customer Service.
7. Be an expert in your destination, generating new leads and researching the competitive landscape of the tourism trends of your region.
8. Attend trade shows and networking events in the travel industry that will result in positive returns of increased business and learning.
You will bring
1. Excellent sales/business development skills, with experience within the travel industry, ideally in Scandinavia.
2. A strong negotiator - able to close deals.
3. Experience of building strategic partnerships with hotels in the Italian market is essential.
4. Good knowledge of hotel revenue management and the travel market.
5. A target driven mindset with experience of working towards, and achieving, monthly targets.
6. Previous flash sale experience and knowledge of Salesforce a bonus.
7. Proven administrative and organisational skills, with the ability to work efficiently in a fast paced environment.
8. Commercial astute with high numeracy and analytical skills.
9. Fluent in English (any other Scandinavian language would also be a bonus!).
