Unify Renewables, a specialist recruitment agency for the renewables sector, is excited to be recruiting for our client—a top-tier solar solutions provider in South Wales, known for delivering high-quality solar, battery storage, and EV charging systems. They're looking for an experienced Solar Electrician who's fully qualified, loves hands-on work, and is ready to power up their career with a forward-thinking company.
The Role
As a Solar Electrician, you'll join an established team delivering both commercial (80%) and domestic (20%) solar installations across South Wales and beyond. This is a field-based role that offers plenty of variety and the chance to work with cutting-edge technology in solar energy. You'll be responsible for installation, testing, inspection, and maintenance of solar systems, while ensuring the highest standards of quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities
1. Installations: Carry out installations of solar PV systems on commercial and residential sites, ensuring work is performed safely, efficiently, and to high standards.
2. Testing & Inspection: Perform testing and inspection of installations in line with the 18th Edition and 2391 standards, guaranteeing safety and compliance.
3. Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Diagnose and repair faults in solar PV systems, providing excellent aftercare and maintenance.
4. Documentation: Keep thorough records of work, including installation details, testing results, and maintenance activities.
5. Customer Service: Interact professionally with clients, providing clear information and assistance on system usage and performance.
What We're Looking For
1. Qualifications: Fully qualified electrician with 18th Edition and 2391 Test & Inspect certification.
2. Experience: Proven experience in solar PV installations, preferably with a blend of commercial and domestic projects. Experience with Solar Edge will be well received.
3. Knowledge: Strong technical knowledge of solar PV systems, battery storage, and EV chargers is advantageous.
4. Field-Based Skills: Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and travel across South Wales (and occasionally further) as required.
5. Driver's License: Full UK driving license is essential, as you'll be provided with a company van and fuel card.
