Brighton is a welcoming and diverse city with a passion for culture, boasting an abundance of shops and award-winning restaurants. For lovers of the outdoors, it has eight miles of glorious beach on its doorstep and borders the magnificent South Downs National Park. There are great travel links with London only a one-hour train journey away and proximity to Gatwick airport.
This position is to cover two sites, 50% in branch and then 50% in the hospital. You will be a key member of the veterinary practice team, comfortable with all aspects of veterinary work, including consulting, surgery, diagnostic imaging (x-rays, ultrasound), and managing most medical cases independently.
The branch has 2 vets/3 nurses, equipped with theatre, x-ray, and ultrasound, where you would provide daily consultation and surgeries, with occasional sole charge. Patients in need of hospitalisation and ongoing care can be transferred to the hospital, situated 5 miles away. At the hospital, the caseload will be varied, with both emergency and advanced medical cases referred to them from the other five branch practices and local practices that they support.
You will be an experienced and approachable team player who demonstrates excellent communication skills with both clients and colleagues, and be able to deliver outstanding client service, with a good understanding of contextualised care.
