We are looking for Transport Planner to join the UK's leading ground engineering and geotechnical contractor. What you'll be doing You will be primarily responsible for the day-to-day operations and planning of our 16-vehicle fleet, to ensure that plant and equipment are delivered on time to our projects across the UK, utilising both Van Elle's own transport fleet and subcontractor transport. Work with internal departments to plan deliveries of piling plant and equipment to our projects across the UK. Ensure the smooth running of the transport operations and vehicles are utilised in the most efficient manner. Prioritise workload, plan driver workloads and ensure driver briefs and debriefs are carried out. Liaise with subcontractors to cover additional workload. Promote and encourage health and safety adherence, and mindful of environmental impact. Work as part of a flexible team and undertake additional functions and responsibilities that provide additional support to meet the needs of the whole department. Who we're looking for (person specification) Experience working in transport or logistics industry. A good awareness of transport regulations, take responsibility to adhere to Operation compliance levels, with regards driver tachograph hours. Knowledge of abnormal loads and Lorry Loaders will be a benefit A transport related qualification such as transport managers CPC or other is desirable. Ability to work flexibly and to make decisions quickly. Strong IT skills, with experience in using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. To be thorough and pay attention to detail Ability to work under pressure. Other Requirements: Eligible to work and live in the UK. Flexibility to travel in the UK. A full driving licence, that is valid in the UK. What you'll get in return Competitive salary depending on experience. Hours of work are Monday to Friday.
