Job Brief
We are looking for an experienced Shift Manager (Retail) to oversee the daily operations of our store (Dean Bank Convenience Store) during the shift. You will ensure the smooth running of operations to maximize sales and minimize costs.
The ideal candidate will have experience as a Retail Manager and knowledge of diverse business subjects such as sales and marketing. An effective retail manager will also be able to motivate personnel to perform according to their maximum capacity. The goal is to manage our store in ways that boost revenues and develop the business.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Oversee daily operations of the store, including sales, customer service, and inventory management.
2. Develop and implement strategies to meet sales goals and increase profitability.
3. Train and supervise store staff, ensuring they provide excellent customer service.
4. Monitor and analyze sales trends, adjusting strategies as needed.
5. Maintain a clean and organized store environment.
6. Handle customer complaints and resolve issues in a timely manner.
7. Create and implement marketing campaigns to drive customer traffic and increase sales.
8. Manage inventory levels and ensure accurate stock replenishment.
9. Conduct regular staff meetings to communicate goals, expectations, and updates.
10. Organize entire store operations and allocate responsibilities to personnel.
11. Supervise and guide staff towards maximum performance.
12. Prepare and control the store’s budget aiming for minimum expenditure and efficiency.
13. Monitor stock levels and purchases and ensure they stay within budget.
14. Ensure and provide excellent customer service throughout the store.
15. Deal with complaints from customers to maintain the store’s reputation.
16. Inspect the areas in the store and resolve any issues that might arise.
17. Plan and oversee in-store promotional events or displays.
18. Keep abreast of market trends to determine the need for improvements in the store.
19. Analyze sales and revenue reports and make forecasts.
20. Ensure the store fulfills all legal health and safety guidelines.
Skills and Qualifications Required
1. Proven experience in an administrative or managerial role.
2. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
3. Strong sales skills with the ability to effectively sell products to customers.
4. Exceptional time management skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
5. Leadership abilities to motivate and inspire a team.
6. Experience in team management, including hiring, training, and performance evaluations.
7. Multilingual skills are a plus.
8. Proficient in phone etiquette for handling customer inquiries and complaints.
9. Ability to effectively manage store operations, including inventory control.
10. Excellent knowledge of retail management software (RDP).
11. Bachelor/Master degree qualification.
