Support Staff (Cover Supervisor & Teaching Assistant) – Secondary School in Stockport Location: Stockport Start Date: Easter 2025 Pay Rate: £90 - £120 per day (dependent on experience) Contract Type: Full-time, long-term A thriving and inclusive secondary school in Stockport is seeking a versatile and proactive Support Staff member to take on a dual role as a Cover Supervisor and Teaching Assistant. This position is ideal for someone looking to gain classroom experience while also supporting students on a one-to-one and small-group basis. Key Responsibilities: Cover Supervision: Deliver pre-prepared lesson plans when teachers are absent, ensuring students remain engaged. Teaching Assistant Support: Assist students with their learning in the classroom, working closely with teachers to provide tailored support. Behaviour & Classroom Management: Maintain a positive learning environment, ensuring that students stay focused and on task. Pastoral & Learning Support: Offer guidance to students, supporting their academic progress and well-being. Assist with Exam & Lesson Preparation: Help set up classrooms, organise learning resources, and provide supervision during assessments. Requirements: Experience in a school setting (as a Cover Supervisor, Teaching Assistant, or similar). Strong classroom management and communication skills. A flexible and proactive approach to student support. A genuine passion for education and student development. Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply).
