An exciting opportunity has arisen for a CAE & Graphics Technician to join the James Watt School of Engineering on a permanent basis.
In this role, the successful candidate will aid design activities from concept generation to prototype generation in support of teaching and research activities in the School of Engineering. They will produce 3D prints of small parts and assemblies using Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) software and 3D printers. They will also produce 3D printed designs in support of undergraduate teaching and research activities within the School. The postholder will employ CAE skills in support of teaching and research, including the use of new CAE toolsets where applicable.
Furthermore, they will aid in the production of images and animations in support of research work within the School of Engineering.
This is a student facing role to aid the set up, delivery and support of Undergraduate Teaching Labs and the postholder will ensure CAE labs have high standard of housekeeping and safe use.
This post is full time (35 hours per week) and offered on an open ended basis.
