We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced senior finance professional to apply their knowledge in a rapidly developing Local Government environment. The ideal applicant will be able to demonstrate several years of senior finance experience in the public sector with an excellent track record of delivering robust, meaningful, timely financial information to key stakeholders and decision-makers. You will be a key senior member of a small but expanding strategic finance team that thrives on collaboration and continuous improvement. You will be fundamental in moulding and improving TVCA’s underlying financial systems and shaping the operation of the finance function, understanding the added value that an effective finance team can bring to a delivery organisation. This knowledge will be channelled in developing and maintaining reporting functionality, meeting the needs of the statutory framework underpinning local government, alongside the dynamic management of information to allow for prudent and robust decision-making without impeding the urgency of service delivery. Working directly alongside the TVCA Chief Accountant, the Corporate Account you will work with colleagues in the finance team to meet the needs of the Combined Authority and its three associate Development Corporations. You will play a pivotal role in managing TVCA’s financial integrity and supporting strategic business decisions in what can be a challenging economic and political environment. Role Requirements At least two years’ experience of operating at a senior level Qualified (or approaching qualification) for chartered accountant (CIMA, CIPFA, ACA or ACCA). Experience of appropriate application of Advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and identify key insights.
