Vacancy - SEMH Teaching Assistant

Salary - 98 to 105 per day

We are working in partnership with an SEMH Special School based in the Newcastle area, who are looking to appoint several SEMH Teaching Assistants. These are full-time vacancies, seeking outstanding candidates to join the school on their journey of growth. The successful candidates can expect to work in a challenging but rewarding environment. The job
* Provide support and guidance to the pupil by removing barriers to learning.
* Support and facilitate change and transition along the journey to excellence.
* Be a consistent support to avoid any further disruption.
* Actively participate in supporting the timetable in all its different contexts.
* Complete assessments and records of students' progress and achievement when needed.
* Work 1:1 and in group settings to support pupils with complex needs.
* Engage students in their lessons and support with the work.
* Have experience of behaviours that challenge and good de-escalation techniques.
* Be a calm and resilient individual with experience of supporting students in KS3 and KS4.
The successful candidates will
* Hold a Teaching Assistant or equivalent qualification.
* Have experience in an SEMH/SEND setting.
* Hold relevant experience/qualifications suited to supporting learners with additional needs.
* Have experience supporting learners with SEMH, behaviours that challenge & SEND needs.
* Be resilient, dedicated, and reliable.
* Team teach training would be preferable.
