The Environment Agency works to create better places for people and wildlife and supports sustainable development. The EA is an executive non-departmental public body, and is a Category 1 responder, responding to a variety of incidents, including flooding, waste and water pollution.
The Mobile Asset team manage the mobile equipment required during and incident, this includes Pumps, incident command units, temporary flood barrier, etc.
Are you passionate about building, maintaining, and enhancing the Mobile Asset (MA) capabilities of and being part of a strong Incident Management and Resilience wider team. An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual to join the team and be an integral member of the MA team.
You will work at our leading Principal depot in Lea Marston and within a dispersed team of dedicated and experienced team members who coordinate planning and running the MAs. Your team, supported by our Technical Advisors, will ensure that the MA capability is delivered in an effective, efficient and safe manner and will flex the programme to deal with impacts of flooding and other incidents.
Your base location is at the Environment Agency’s Lea Marston depot. You will be expected to travel to other EA depots across England, as well as partner sites. There will be a requirement for out of hours working in incident and you will be required to participate in a standby rota for the site.
You will be key to our response during incidents, in ensuring equipment is ready to deploy, is safely and efficiently prepared for transportation. You will have ensured maintenance schedules are maintained and communication with the wider team in MAs is fundamental.

The team
The mobile assets team is part of the wider Incident Management and Resilience Team that provides a national service for the business. We maintain and coordinate the Mobile Assets capability and implement the introduction of operational tools and standards to drive improved ways of working.
We manage a range of contracts to support our area operational teams and develop strong working relationships with supply chain partners to assure our delivery meets required standards.
Experience/skills required
• Full UK Driving license
• Telehandler / forklift – experienced operator
• Ability to develop and maintain good relationships with internal and external customers and partners.
• Delivery of work by planning, tracking, gathering and maintaining data/information.
• Good organisational skills and an ability to use IT
