To oversee the operations of the dietary and environmental services for two of our locations, Belinda’s Place and Sutton Youth Services, plus any additional YHSS locations as required. The effective management of financial resources and the development of a strong dietary and environmental service team that will deliver optimal care and service, based on legislative requirements while assuring adherence to the policies and procedures set out by The Salvation Army.
Education and Experience Qualifications
* Preference will be given to individuals working in a similar current role for dietary and custodial services.
* Current food handlers’ certificate.
* Culinary certificate/diploma or equivalent restaurant, institutional cooking experience.
Experience and Knowledge Requirements
* Minimum of two years’ experience supervising staff.
* Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety.
* Knowledge of working with community-based not-for-profit organizations.
Skills and Capabilities
* Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office and Office 365.
* Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
* Strong sense of integrity and confidentiality with professional ethics and a balanced sense of fairness.
* Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
* Valid Driver’s License.
* Good interpersonal and time management skills.
* A valid first aid and CPR certificate.
* Up-to-date WMHIS training.
* Must have a VSS (Vulnerable Sector Screening) that is satisfactory to The Salvation Army.
* Ability to undergo applicable screening and background checks successfully.
Ability and willingness to develop an understanding and support for the mission and purpose of The Salvation Army in Canada and its implications as related to position responsibilities.
