Job Title: Mechanical Design Engineer (Building Services)Location: Croydon, SurreyJob Type: Full-Time, PermanentSalary: £60,000 - £70,000About the Role: Our client is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer (Building Services) to join their expanding Mechanical Contracts Team. This role is critical in providing comprehensive design support to the firm's Mechanical and Electrical Installation Engineers.Key Responsibilities: Design mechanical services systems from architectural drawings and/or room data sheets, including domestic services, ventilation, heating, cooling, air conditioning, and public health installations. Manage projects from initial design brief through to design completion for implementation. Liaise with clients, consultants, and professional teams to present and review designs. Conduct site visits and surveys to ensure design feasibility. Work closely with Contract Management and Site Operating teams throughout the design and implementation phases.Requirements: Minimum of 10 years of experience in Building Services Engineering with qualifications to HND, HNC, or degree level. Demonstrable experience in managing design projects ranging from £100,000 to £5,000,000. Proficiency in Building Services design software, and familiarity with Estimating, CAD, BIM, and Revit packages. Knowledge of computer-based estimation software, MS Project or Asta Powerproject, and proficiency in Microsoft Office.Desirable Attributes: Strong knowledge of current regulations, including HTMs and BMS & Control Systems. Experience in Design & Build projects. Excellent documentation, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
