The role
We are looking for a Sustainability Coordinator to help deliver our Sustainability Strategy in the UK, supporting the work of our teams across our UK divisions and sites. The role will collaborate with the wider sustainability team and work with core functions including HSE, facilities, communications, commercial, engineering, HR, procurement, Audit, Legal, Capability and Finance.
This role will help develop & deliver our Sustainability Plan and embed sustainability within our teams and across the lifecycle of our projects and products.
We need a collaborator to work with our teams and help coordinate activities across a variety of areas:
1. People: Support with embedding sustainability across Leonardo by enthusing employees to help drive sustainability into a new business-as-usual – empowering all employees to see their role through the lens of climate, nature and people; work closely with our Inclusion & Diversity and STEM teams.
2. Planet: Support our Climate Action in line with our Science Based Targets and our UK Net Zero goals; support our work on circularity; support our biodiversity projects.
3. Prosperity: Help to understand and align with the sustainability strategies and contracting principles of our key external stakeholders including Customers and Suppliers.
4. Risk: Help to coordinate Sustainability and ESG related risks with the Enterprise Risk and Finance teams.
What you will do
* Be a key member of the Sustainability Team, and grow subject matter expertise in sustainability topics.
* Support the implementation of the sustainability plan across the UK.
* Support and coordinate projects that deliver our sustainability strategy.
* Drive projects and initiatives to develop the culture of Sustainability through narrative and engagement.
* Grow and support the UK Sustainability Network; Collaborate with our I&D Network groups.
* Stakeholder engagement and mapping.
Key Responsibility Areas
* Help deliver the sustainability plan in the UK, developed in conjunction with Central Leonardo and Divisional Sustainability teams and influenced by key external stakeholders.
* Support key annual projects, such as Materiality Assessment, Carbon Reduction Plan, Sustainability Week, Employee Engagement Days, Stakeholder engagement etc.
* Help to embed sustainability into the day-to-day ways of working across all functions and projects.
* Working closely with our communications team to help build engagement internally and externally.
* Support project management of various key projects, from climate and biodiversity, to circularity and human rights.

Essential:
* A passion for Sustainability and a desire to create positive impact.
* Ability to think creatively to develop innovative solutions.
* A good understanding of sustainability and key associated topics e.g climate, biodiversity, DE&I, social impact, supply chain sustainability, social value etc.
* The ability to work in a fast-evolving space to deliver near-term actions and long-term goals.
* A fantastic communicator with the ability to work collaboratively across teams internally and with external stakeholders.
* Ability to translate a growing sustainability agenda into a plan relevant for a variety of stakeholders.
* Project and stakeholder management skills, keeping multiple work streams moving forward at the same time.
* Ability to influence teams, networks and projects.
* Excellent verbal, written and organisational skills.
* An understanding of how culture, diversity and inclusion plays a critical role in building a sustainable business.
Desirable:
* Specific experience in a focus area of sustainability.
* Experience in resolving sustainability challenges in complex organisations.
* Experience with customer and supplier management.
* Understanding of how sustainability relates to different parts of an organisation.
* Cross-functional/organisational relationship-building skills.
* Strong communications background.
* Experience working in a global organisation.
