A great opportunity has arisen for an Infrastructure Engineer to join our team looking after the operational management of the core IT services for Herefordshire Council and Wye Valley NHS Trust, plus a number of other Hoople customers. This includes management of 3 data centres, a community wide WAN and all of the enterprise infrastructure and applications for these organisations.

We're ideally looking for someone with:
1. Experience of supporting Enterprise IT infrastructure.
2. Experience of supporting Enterprise level server virtualisation technologies including VMWare and VSphere.
3. Experience of supporting Microsoft server products including Exchange, SharePoint, SQL, Windows Server and SCCM.
4. Experience of supporting enterprise storage and backup technologies including Veeam.
5. Experience of supporting Microsoft Office 365 in an Enterprise environment.
6. Experience of supporting enterprise IT diagnostic and monitoring solutions.
7. Experience of working with Service Levels Agreements (SLA) and towards Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) including the prioritisation of work.
8. Excellent communication and negotiation skills in both technical and non-technical communications.
9. Ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders and colleagues across all levels of the organisation.
About the role:
The post holder, alongside other members of the server team, will be responsible for the monitoring and maintenance of Hoople Customers server and SaaS environments, to include moves, changes, break/fix and decommissioning assets and services.
The role requires a good knowledge of Windows Server operating systems (2008R2 to 2019), VMWare vSphere, server and storage hardware, Microsoft Office 365 and an understanding of enterprise infrastructure technologies as well as backup solutions including Veeam.
This post will be reporting to the Infrastructure Team Leader. The role will provide support to all areas of the Hoople customer base, so good interpersonal skills are essential.
You will have experience in supporting and managing enterprise infrastructure using market leading software and tools in order to ensure systems and services remain operational. You will have experience of troubleshooting complex issues and managing change and upgrades to systems and applications.
You will work with the infrastructure teams to deliver day to day infrastructure support, monitoring, maintenance and project delivery, including responding to 2nd line incidents and service requests from the user base across multiple customers.
You will be able to confidently engage with colleagues and customers in delivering infrastructure support services within customer Service Level Agreements, as well as project led changes to infrastructure including transition to operations.
You will also ideally have experience of supporting highly available environments in and out of hours and be required to provide out of hours support on a rota basis including the support of disaster recovery activities in the case of major systems failures.
