The Role:
The Interior Operative role itself is to carry out maintenance, fittings and basic installations across the interior of the train. Typical duties include:
1. Fitting doors/tiles/windows/tables/seats
2. Changing/replacing light bulbs/taps/door handles/toilet seats/tables, etc
3. Cleaning off graffiti
4. Basic repairs
5. Changing seat coverings
6. General handyman work across the units
Hours wise, the role works on a day & night shift pattern working 10 hour shifts. When you are on days you will work Mon-Fri and on nights you will do Sun-Thurs.
The Company:
The company serves the London, Kent, and East Sussex areas, running 165 stations and completing over 1,700 journeys each day.
As a result of this, they have a large fleet of trains – 399 to be precise so it is safe to say you will always be busy and have a new challenge to overcome.
Remuneration & Benefits:
This rail company has on offer the following for contract staff:
7. £19.50p/h
8. 3 month rolling contract with a view to be extended indefinitely depending on the team’s performance
Requirements:
9. Previous experience in Facilities Management, Construction or Rolling Stock
10. Knowledge of rolling stock Maintenance is a bonus
11. Be able to pass a Drugs & Alcohol test.
12. Be able to pass a full rail medical – this will include, sight, hearing, colourisation, heart, lungs, brain, etc…
13. Be able to pass PTS.
14. Provide your Right to Work documents before deployment.
15. Happy to help mentality/attitude.
