The opportunity
We have a brand-new opportunity for an experienced Senior Account Executive to join our established Commercial Team, based in our Dumfries office.
The successful Account Executive will be responsible for developing a strong pipeline of new business in relation to various lines of commercial insurance, whilst ensuring full FCA compliance.
The overall purpose of the role will be to generate revenue for the business and ensure a quality service is provided to all clients in accordance with their needs and requirements. In Harper Stairmand every individual plays a meaningful strategic part of the business going forward and is recognised accordingly.
Key areas of responsibility include
* Prospecting new leads
* Attending client visits and making initial contact
* Completing identification of needs with prospective clients
* Negotiation and presentation to insurers in order to secure most appropriate cover for the client
* Presentation of recommendations and cover to the client
* Closing the sale and ensuring cover is on risk
* Securing cross selling business and referrals
* Monitoring own sales performance in line with targets and effectively manage the client portfolio
* Ensuring all business activity fully complies with FCA regulation and company procedures
* Handle any complaints in accordance with regulation, the Company’s Conduct Policy and Guide to Best Practice
* Achieve and maintain a high level of customer service and always promote exceptional customer care standards
* Develop and maintain a professional working relationship with all clients and ensure expert advice in all areas of business
* Liaising with Account Handlers when appropriate
* Ensuring accuracy, efficiency and professionalism when dealing with both clients and insurers
What we’re looking for
To be successful in the role, you must have the following skills;
* Previous experience in an Account Executive role within a broker environment
* New Business skills and a strong client reputation
* Working knowledge of most commercial insurance products
* Experience of working to high standards of FCA compliance
* I.T. skills including use of an insurance IT system, ideally Acturis
* Strong organisation skills
* The ability to work to a high level of accuracy
* Exemplary customer service skills with the ability to build solid relationships with clients and insurers
* Regulatory and compliance awareness
* Cert CII qualifications
