Electrical, Control and Instrumentation Team Lead

What we’re looking for
We are looking for an individual who will contribute day-to-day specialist knowledge within their discipline and / or lead in projects which provide commercially focussed support and / or service delivery to internal and / or external clients. will determine solutions for problems, within their discipline, where the parameters are not well defined and where previous experience does not provide any precedent. To act as Technical Team Lead.

The role
* Carry out design appraisal of complex electrical or instrumentation and control related arrangements and systems against Codes and Standards and Regulations and Client project requirements
* Provide sound Technical and Regulatory guidance to Clients during the design and construction phase and participate in meetings or workshops where required.
* Perform assessments and provide specialist advice for service delivery, research or development work within agreed parameters that includes budget constraints and contractual requirements.
* Apply appropriate theoretical and practical methods to design, develop, manufacture, construct, commission, operate and maintain engineering products, processes, systems and services.
* Produce the deliverable within the agreed parameters in a defined format.
* Assess / recommend the time / value of the work to be undertaken for an internal / external client within an agreed fee / cost structure
* Discuss / present the deliverable with the internal / external client and be able to suggest alternative solutions where appropriate.
* Undertake administration as required in line with current processes and procedures.
* Pursue Continuous Professional Development and maintain a high degree of discipline, knowledge and awareness.
* Assist in service delivery improvement by communicating internal / external client feedback as appropriate.
* Coach other employees, as appropriate, and disseminate information to achieve effective knowledge transfer and application.
* Management and oversight of project schedules, financial tracking, contract risk management procedures and issues plus associated project documentation and supporting compliance with all legal, statutory and regulatory requirements.
Key Health & Safety Responsibilities:
Assess the risks and work in a safe manner at all times, robustly implementing health and safety rules, instructions and systems and refuse to undertake work that compromises your safety or health.
Report in a timely manner all incidents including near miss and safety observations (NMSO), accidents and injuries and raise any health and safety concerns with your line manager.
What you bring
* A degree or equivalent from a tertiary organisation recognised by Lloyd’s Register within the relevant field of Electrical or Instrumentation & Control Engineering.
* Minimum 10 years of working experience in a related Electrical or Instrumentation & Control Engineering area.
* Membership of an appropriate professional institution with Professional Engineer (PE) or Chartered Engineer (CEng) or similar designation, or eligible and working towards such PE / CEng status.
* Possess flexible attitude, effective interpersonal skills, strong analytical skills, and can provide technical, commercial, and people communication.
* Effective communication skills in both written and spoken English, with the ability to prepare, discuss, and present technical deliverables to internal and external stakeholders.
* Experience with design assurance and appraisal would be an advantage.
* Exposure to Consultancy, Concept / FEED / Detailed Design and EPC projects.
* Knowledge of Classification / Certification / Verification is desirable.
* Strong understanding of industry standards and best practices related to electrical or instrumentation and control engineering.
