Civil Engineering Lead Role
The Civil DMT ensures that HPC Design Entities deliver to quality, cost, schedule, a coherent, safe and compliant design fit for procurement, construction, commissioning and operation.
Reporting to the Civil Engineering Design Delivery Manager, the key responsibilities include:
* Contract Management: Support the contract team to validate their scope, responsible for development of Early Warnings on scope and Project Work Requests with aid from the contract team.
* Schedule Management: Oversee the L2 Engineering schedule and ensure that L3 aligns, update Engineering Project Controls with the correct NNB input data.
* Cost Control: Support the Engineering Delivery Manager and Engineering Project Controls team to agree EPRE annual contract budgets and how to tackle costs.
* Management of Risks, Opportunities, Trends and Changes: Support the management of Engineering risks (Project and Technical) and Engineering organisations to identify, progress and prioritise risks and opportunities accordingly.
* Stakeholder Relationships: Develop and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders ensuring that their expectations are met.
* Technical Design Vision: Be involved in Design Change preparation and technical decision committee preparation, and support the CMB and TDC topics related to their scope.
* Configuration and Change Management: Responsible for coordinating with the respective Plant Integration Configuration Engineer to ensure RC2 and post-RC2 (design open points, design changes, referential changes).
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
* Strong knowledge of civil engineering design principles.
* Knowledge of design process and design activities related to Nuclear Industry.
* Knowledge of power station design (EPR or NPP).
* Bachelor's degree or Master's in a relevant science or engineering subject.
* Good project management and organisational skills.
* Understanding of quality requirements.
* Knowledge of Health & Safety legislation including CDM and Nuclear Site License requirements.
* Ability to travel regularly between the various project Command Centres and engineering entities.
