Learning Support Assistant (LSA) Location: Worcester Salary: £19,000 Hours: Full-Time Permanent A unique opportunity has arisen for a Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to work in a specialised outdoor learning environment, supporting students aged 11-19 with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC). This role is perfect for someone passionate about making a real difference in young people’s lives while helping them develop academically, socially, and emotionally. The Role: The successful candidate will:
* Provide tailored support to small groups and individual students in a nurturing environment.
* Assist in delivering engaging and creative lessons, incorporating outdoor learning.
* Build trusting relationships with students to support their emotional well-being.
* Use effective behaviour management techniques to maintain a positive learning atmosphere.
* Collaborate with teachers and other staff to ensure the best outcomes for students.
* Contribute to maintaining a safe, structured, and stimulating environment.
Requirements: Candidates should demonstrate:
* Experience supporting children or young people with additional needs, particularly autism.
* Confidence, resilience, and a calm approach in high-pressure situations.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with students and staff.
* A commitment to professional development and willingness to learn.
* GCSEs in Maths and English (or equivalent).
* Experience in outdoor or non-traditional learning settings is desirable but not essential.
* A deep and thorough understanding of autism, perhaps backed up by Autism Level 1and Level 2 Training.
* History of working with children who are disengaged with education.
