RPS is looking to appoint Consultants/Senior Consultants to join our Archaeology Teams in London, Gloucester and Newark. The successful candidates appointed to join the London and Newark teams will be expected to attend the office at least one day a week. Our Gloucester office is home-based. In each instance you will join an established team where you can develop your skills and experience preparing Archaeological Desk-Based Assessments, WSIs, inputs into Environmental Statements with encouragement to manage small scale fieldwork projects.

You will work both individually and as a member of diverse teams to deliver multiple projects simultaneously to agreed deadlines. As part of that team you will be mentored to provide rapid career progression (for the right candidate with the right mindset).
What you will be doing
You will primarily assist the Archaeology Directors to complete ongoing projects. Your work will include:
· Producing Archaeological Desk Based Assessments, WSIs and inputs into ES
· Managing small fieldwork Projects; Watching Brief’s and small evaluations;
· Liaising with clients, fieldwork contractors and curators;
· Preparing draft fee proposals;
· Supporting other members of staff
About You:
· Whilst experience of preparing DBAs and WSIs would be useful – it is not essential. We are looking for candidates with the required work ethic and a positive disposition towards much needed development to meet the Government’s growth targets
· Good working knowledge of Microsoft packages including Word, Excel, Outlook etc. and IT in general
· Ability to carry out research and prepare considered reports to a tight timescale
· Degree level education or higher in a relevant subject
· Full clean driving licence
· A desire for, and commitment to, continuing professional development
· You should ideally be a member of the Chartered Institute for Archaeologists (or be eligible for this)
