Our client is looking for an experienced Plater Fabricator to join their Height Safety team, the role will include the fabrication of a number of steel posts, brackets and associated components in our yard for installation on site. The ideal candidate would have at least 5 years’ experience of steel fabrication (welding desired but not essential) and be willing to travel for work. The clients work covers the majority of the UK installing and servicing essential clients and travel will be required as part of this role, lodging away from home will be required occasionally during the week. A company van will be provided. Due to the nature of this Plater Fabricator work you should not be afraid of and accustomed to working at heights as this role involves working at height regularly. For this Plater Fabricator role the following Qualifications and experience is preferred (advantageous if held currently, but not essential) Working at height training Harness Training IPAF MEWP 3A and 3B Height rescue training Full UK driving licence IOSH, ECITB Safety passport -Training will be supplied. Steelwork fabrication and installation from drawings. Site management experience - Permits to work, isolation permits, working at height assessments. Basic computer skills Driving is essential to the role so you will be required to have a car license with no more than 6 points to enable you to get to projects. Your daily duties once trained fully include but are not limited to: - Meeting with clients and viewing installation areas to discuss the planning and preparation for projects. Hands on running of site installations and liaising with site operatives and clients. Ensuring projects are completed to client specification and drawings provided. Ensuring projects are completed safely, to the procedure and to the highest standard of quality. Carryout annual inspections and issuing reports of safety systems. Completing and signing off all necessary reports and paperwork required. Fabrication of steelwork as required and directed to allow for the safe installation of safety systems. Stock traceability. Use of site equipment. Dealing with technical issues on site. Reporting back to the office on any potential sales. Reporting any accidents to the office. Please note sufficient training will be maintained to allow you carry out your duties safely. The Plater Fabricator working hours are 40 hours minimum per week with 1-hour unpaid lunchbreak per day, Weekend work will be paid at enhanced rates. Starting Salary Negotiable based on experience; after probationary period of 6 months has been completed you will be entitled to enter the company bonus scheme. Holiday entitlement is 25 days per year pro rata plus bank holidays
