Lead Safety Engineer
Contract Role - 12 Months
£60-90 p/h
Remote Role - 2 days on-site per month
The Energy Division at ARM is currently recruiting an experienced Lead Engineer to join a world-leading nuclear defence client based out of Devonport dockyard.
Job Overview:
Our client provides major new or upgraded dock, berth, and building infrastructure projects to support the ship and submarine sustainment programmes.
Your primary focus will be to technically manage a team of engineers to identify and update extant Design Safety Reports (DSRs) to support the justification of safety claims made through the PSC-220 Phase 4 safety assessment.
Responsibilities:
1. The checking and review of all technical output from the DSR Updates work package.
2. Identification of the extant DSRs that require updating in support of the safety claims made through the new PSC-220 Phase 4 safety assessment.
3. Input into the Facility Level Design Report as required by the 14 Dock Operations & Integration Manager.
4. Ensure that the produced documentation covers the scope of operations required by the 14D Safety Project Manager and 14 Dock Operations & Integration Manager, and is produced to agreed standards, schedule, and budget.
5. Ensuring effective Quality Management Arrangements, operate and deliver through compliance with Babcock's Business Management System and Technical Manual.
What do you need to succeed?
1. A degree in an appropriate engineering discipline.
2. Strong safety background.
3. Experience in Civil Structural engineering.
4. Chartered Engineer (or working towards) and registered with Engineering Council.
5. Nuclear Introductory Course or equivalent nuclear and/or marine system knowledge.
