Assistant Buyer - Branded Supplier Innovation (12 months Parental Leave Cover)

This is a fantastic opportunity to join the Branded Supplier Innovation team reporting into the Lead Buying Manager for Innovation on Food and Non-Food. You will be part of a team covering a huge spectrum of supplier types from building our accelerator program ranges working directly with founders and entrepreneurs to fast paced fast innovation and big branded suppliers. This is an excellent opportunity for a colleague who is passionate about innovation and products and prepared to work at great speed to deliver our huge ambition.
This position is a 12 month Parental Leave Cover.
You will be responsible for
* Delivery of innovation ranges and plans for customers
* Deliver a customer led plan to deliver the innovation strategy with suppliers aligned to category objectives
* Utilise all category management techniques on price, promotion, events, product innovation, range, space and merchandising to increase sales and profit
* Build relationships with supplier partners
* Build relationships with the innovation community creating a presence for Tesco
* Negotiate with supplier partners to deliver market leading product costs and investment
* Negotiate with supplier partners to deliver market leading launch plans for innovation
* Deliver sales, profit, margin and outperformance measures as set
* Supporting the innovation team across initiatives
* Adhering to all Tesco policies, storage and handover protocols, and successfully completing my training so that I have zero GSCOP breaches
* Ensuring all agreements are recorded in writing, reporting GSCOP complaints to Legal within 48 hours of receipt and leading a culture of compliance within my team
* Following our business code of conduct and always acting with integrity and due diligence (all roles)
