THE ROLE/ TE MAHI
As an E-learning designer and developer, you will play a key role in designing, developing, implementing and maintaining a dynamic digital learning environment. This is a permanent, fulltime role reporting to the Digital Resource Lead and can be based in either Christchurch or Auckland. You will support staff, ākonga (students) and support teams in implementing digital teaching and learning strategies, ensuring best practices in eLearning solutions. Whilst this is a teaching role and will include a 0.2FTE teaching component we will also consider applications from non-teachers.
Key responsibilities:
* Develop and implement an eLearning strategy in alignment with organisational goals.
* Design and develop engaging eLearning modules, digital resources and online courses using UX/UI best practices.
* Manage and enhance the Learning Management System (LMS) and digital platforms (Te Rito, NZSL Online Hub, Articulate Storyline, Adobe CC apps).
* Provide professional development, training, and support for teachers, students, and professionals.
* Embed eLearning best practices to improve the quality of teaching and learning.
* Maintain and monitor digital learning resources to ensure accessibility and effectiveness.
* Collaborate with specialist teachers and key stakeholders to integrate technology into educational practices.
* Lead induction training for new staff on eLearning platforms and digital tools.
* Contribute to the strategic direction of digital learning within the organisation.
YOU WILL HAVE / KA MAHI KOE
* Proven experience in instructional design, eLearning development and digital learning strategies.
* Strong UX/UI design skills and experience in digital content creation.
* Proficiency with eLearning tools such as Articulate Storyline, Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator etc.) and Office 365 apps.
* Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and web-based learning platforms.
* Strong problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to evolving digital education trends.
* Excellent interpersonal, communication (including NZSL or a willingness to learn) and organisational skills.
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
