Derbyshire is a large authority divided into six localities: Amber Valley, Chesterfield, Erewash, High Peak (Buxton, Glossop, New Mills, and Matlock), Bolsover and North-East, and South Derbyshire. Alongside our Locality teams we have a countywide Children with Disabilities Service.
This Supervising Social Worker post will primarily support and supervise Derbyshire Fostering Families to provide the best care to children across the county including those placed with Family and Friends. As the Fostering Service continues to develop there may be occasions where as a Supervising Social Worker you will be asked to carry out assessments and other areas of fostering social work.
The Disability Fostering Team works with foster carers who provide enhanced care and support to children and young people who have disabilities, sometimes with complex medical needs. It would be advantageous if applicants have some experience of working with children with disabilities or their carers.
