The Team:
The LGH is Tasmania's second largest hospital and the major referral centre for Northern Tasmania, operating within its designated role in the Tasmanian Role Delineation Framework, as a level 5 hospital. Providing inpatient and ambulatory services to Launceston and surrounding areas it is the largest employer in the region with around 4000 staff. The LGH has 349 beds (excluding mental health inpatient beds).
As the clinical teaching and research centre, LGH works closely with the University of Tasmania and other institutions. All our services work closely together to focus on delivering excellence in healthcare to achieve improved outcomes for our consumers, our workforce, and the Tasmanian community.
The Role:
The Team Leader – Compounding and Cancer Services acts as an expert in the management of chemotherapy, oncology and haematology treatment, and compounding of specialised medicines. In this context, they lead and participate in dispensing, checking and ordering of specialist medications, protocol management, clinical review, patient education, and provision of advice across a broad range of compounding and cancer service issues to both internal and external stakeholders.
You will need to:
* Operate independently in the provision of complex pharmacy activities to patients of the Tasmanian Health Service by demonstrating advanced knowledge, skills and experience relevant to pharmacy practice and provision of pharmaceutical information and providing professional advice and consultancy services to other disciplines and the public.
* Supervise pharmacy teams under the broad delegation of the relevant pharmacy service manager, including direction of work priorities and practices; monitoring workflow; management of staff, professional supervision and development, performance appraisal and implementing programs and strategies to address identified training needs (including within an extended hours framework as appropriate).
* Lead, initiate and participate in the development and monitoring of policies and standard operating procedures for clinical pharmacy services.

Permanent part time, day worker position, working Fridays, 15.2 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.

Salary: $123,717 to $134,336 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
* Salary range is in accordance with Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement No.2 of 2022.

You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.
