Job overview
An opportunity has arisen at Prince Charles Hospital for 2 x 20hrs Linen Assistant posts. If successful, the post holder will be responsible for the daily organisation and delivery of clean linen to patients.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will ensure that there are adequate linen stock available at all times on Wards and Departments, receive deliveries of clean linen stock from laundry service suppliers and deliver adequate linen supplies to wards and departments. They will also ensure that quality standards are maintained and any quality issues are escalated to the appropriate line manager. Additionally, the post holder will be responsible for the safe storage and organisation of the linen storage room.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
* Use tact when dealing with Users/Departments, eg. when explaining where and why part of their linen order has not been delivered.
* Provide advice regarding lost linen and changes to daily requirements for Users/Departments.
* Explain why the requirements of an order have changed and provide explanations as to delays or changes.
* Provide reassurances that deadlines will be met for distributing their linen, and that the balance of an order will be delivered at the earliest possible time.
* Receive and issue clean linen as per the Service Level Agreement (SLA) Linen Contract.
* Identify and report any shortages or over supply to the Domestic Supervisor/Manager.
* Maintain the required stock of linen as per the requirements.
Person specification
Knowledge
* Good standard of general education.
* A good knowledge of the Healthcare/NHS environment; experience in a similar role.
Skills and Experience
* Able to communicate with all levels of staff.
* Ability to work as a member of a team and on own initiative.
* Ability to speak Welsh.
