Assistant Accountant

SF Recruitment are exclusively partnering with an excellent organisation based in Loughborough who are in search of an Assistant Accountant on a fixed term contract basis for approximately 15 months. This role directly reports to the Finance Manager and plays a key role in providing complete, accurate and timely financial information and managing day-to-day finance queries, including communication with internal colleagues and external partners and suppliers.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Assist and complete the monthly payment run to suppliers, producing BACS reports and processing payments.
2. Month end processes, preparation of monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
3. Supporting with the month end accounts completion including accruals and prepayments and asset register maintenance.
4. Prepare reports and analyse financial information including overhead analysis and company expense analysis.
5. Cash Book Management through the daily recording of bank transactions and monthly reconciliations.
6. Sales and Purchase Ledger reconciliations and resulting investigations.
7. Manage the debtors control process and follow up on any outstanding debts.
8. Raise sales invoices via Sage and assist in the processing of the weekly banking.
9. Provide support to the Finance Manager and wider finance team and assist in any other ad hoc projects.
What We're Looking For:
1. AAT qualified, part qualified or qualified by experience.
2. Ability to produce work to tight deadlines.
3. Able to work as part of a team with a positive, proactive and helpful attitude.
4. Organised and methodical when approaching tasks.
