About the Role:
We are seeking a dynamic and passionate Agency Teacher of English to join our team. As an agency teacher, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality lessons, engaging students in the study of English, and ensuring that they make measurable progress. This is an exciting opportunity for a teacher with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) who is looking for flexible teaching opportunities within a variety of schools.
Key Responsibilities:
* Deliver engaging and effective lessons in English across Key Stage 3, 4, and potentially 5, following the national curriculum and school-specific guidelines.
* Create and maintain a positive and productive learning environment, managing classroom behavior effectively.
* Assess, record, and report on student progress, identifying areas for improvement and providing appropriate feedback.
* Adapt lessons to meet the varying needs and learning styles of students.
* Provide constructive and supportive feedback to students to help them achieve their best potential.
* Collaborate with other teaching staff and support teams to ensure a high standard of teaching and learning.
* Keep up to date with developments in education, especially in the teaching of English.
Key Requirements:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
* Proven experience teaching English at secondary school level.
* Strong understanding of the English curriculum and assessment frameworks.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to manage classroom behavior and create a positive learning environment.
* Ability to plan, prepare, and deliver lessons to a high standard.
* A proactive and flexible approach to teaching and working within a team.
* Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to undergo one).
Desirable:
* Experience teaching English to GCSE and A-level students.
* Specialism in Literature or Language is an advantage.
