The Operations Manager will support the current team in the following areas: Planning, directing, and coordinating the manufacturing, production control and material management functions of the organization, managing and improving the efficiency of daily operations, and planning the use of materials and human resources. Manage all manufacturing related functions of the Cryoquip Ltd business Direct manpower and the production or job assignments of the workshop team. Supervise, advise and mentor all workshop personnel drawing on your operational knowledge and experience Plan and present toolbox talks, briefings, focus meetings, job assignments and department meetings as required or directed. Provide support to the General Manager on operational matters. (e.g. forecast and CAPEX planning, personnel, tool and resource planning). Direct and manage production planning, attend and contribute to production meetings. Involvement with post production project review and lessons learnt. Work with engineering to review drawings, material, resource and manpower requirements, both at quotation and execution stage. Work directly with suppliers to action materials specification and ordering, on time delivery and cost reduction using knowledge of manufacturing processes, safety, tooling and production equipment, assembly methods, quality control standards, product design, materials and parts. Work with Workshop supervisor and service dept to support their functions. Manage workshop team supervision, timesheet approval and job assignments. The goal would be to ensure optimum production and utilization of personnel, machines and equipment. Integrate and communicate with QA team to provide support or shop resources. Oversee interview process, recruitment, induction, onboarding and training management of new workshop staff. Initiate and manage the development and implementation of new capabilities or fabrication processes. Oversee management of workshop, tools and equipment maintenance program Manage procurement and ordering of workshop tools, supplies and consumables. Assist management team with stock control and inventory until such times as this can be delegated. Other tasks as assigned by the GM or Operations manager. Support implementation of global health and safety program. Locally, deliver toolbox talks, contribute to local health and safety program and fire system testing Longer Term Development and Expansion of Job Role: Establish production standards, develop budget and cost controls, and obtain and utilize strategic data regarding types, quantities, specifications, and delivery dates of products ordered. Direct the development and execution of manufacturing process plans, including personnel and safety requirements, purchasing needs, subcontract requirements, information technology needs, facility needs, and tooling and equipment needs. Ensure that established costs, quality, customer satisfaction and on-time delivery commitments are met. Ensure continuous improvement and swift problem resolution in a communicative, fair, and transparent process. Assist in the development of procurement personnel (when the team expands to include this) and the delegation of procurement activities to this department. In partnership with the GM, assist in the management of PL, budget, and achievement of established financials and performance targets. This role also works cross-functionally with departments in the organization such as Engineering, procurement, QA, Project, commercial and senior management. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work Full-time, exempt position. Working hours are 07:30 to 16:30. Overtime may be requested on occasion to meet deadlines or production demands. As a senior team member, it would be requested that keyholder responsibility is assumed and support provided to manage overtime and out of hours work. Travel Domestic and international travel may be required. Support to global facilities may be requested also. Education and Experience Completion of general secondary education with subsequent in-job experience whereby requisite knowledge, skills and abilities have been demonstrated. Minimum five years’ experience in manufacturing operations in an industrial equipment manufacturing environment with a minimum of three years’ experience in a supervisorial role. Understanding of & familiarity with pressure vessels, heat exchangers, rotating equipment manufacturing for IG and/or clean energy industry preferred. Computer skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office software, MRP/ERP software, Project Management software. Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, work independently, be detail-oriented and thorough. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Knowledge of raw materials, manufacturing processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of the company’s products. Knowledge of Heat Exchanger Products and process flow, manufacturing process, etc. Knowledge of PED and code requirements, facility type approvals and general engineering. Knowledge of welding processes, equipment and techniques Knowledge of the company operations and general principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, production methods and coordination of resources.
