Job overview
The Electronic Assistive Technology Service Wales (EAT) provides a holistic assessment, trials, long term loan and maintenance service that aims to enhance our patients’ independence, mobility and ability to communicate. We are looking for a skilled Service Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparation, reconditioning and fault assessing of EAT equipment.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be responsible for the following:
1. The repair, adjustment and reconditioning of EAT equipment.
2. Support the EAT Technical and Clinical Staff with preparation of EAT equipment and assist staff at installation appointments.
3. Carry out administrative functions to support the clinical and technical team, including loading and unloading equipment, decontamination of equipment, resetting and reprogramming EAT equipment, checking equipment prior to restocking.
4. Undertake visits to the homes of patients across South Wales, requiring a full driving license and awareness of lone worker issues.

Qualifications
* NVQ Level 3 or equivalent technical Qualification Educated to GCSE level
Experience
* IT Competent.
* Direct contact with people on a daily basis.
* Experience working with Electronics or programming computer-based equipment.
* Experience of engineering/technical fault finding and resolution.
Skills
* Ability to adjust and modify computer settings.
* Ability to safely use a range of engineering tools, good practical abilities.
* Communication Skills.
* Qualification in a practical skill(s).
Special Knowledge
* Working in an Assistive Technology or related service.
Personal Qualities
* Enthusiastic. Committed approach. Adaptable. Flexible. Good team player.
